favorite hike that i have done in a while. a new route for an old hike. loved it!

red rock and beatles love

visited leah in vegas with cody in september. it was a much needed weekend of hiking at red rocks {just outside of vegas}, going to bikram yoga for the first time {super hard and super HOT, but uh-mazing}, shopping and seeing my first cirque de soleil show: beatles love.

cable mountain

hiked cable mountain a few sundays ago with cody and leah. we had never done this hike in zion. the views are breathtaking. and somehow we picked a day where the temperatures were in the sixties! that combined with going to oscar's for the murder burger after . . . made it a perfect day. :)

camping on carlsbad state beach

snuck away for the weekend a couple weeks ago with cody, leah and alesha to go camping on the beach. what a perfect weekend. right on the beach. relaxing, roasting hot dogs and falling asleep to the sound of the waves.

we also went to huntington beach and stayed with some new friends really close to the beach in a way sweet house. it was a blast!

love this hike. slots is one of the best. and the fact the leah stayed up all night then drove up from vegas to go on this hike was awesome, especially since she was crazy the whole time. :)

quilts and such

finally finished my sweater quilt that i started, no kidding, probably 3 years ago. i made it from bright sweaters that i used to wear in my high school days and then i crocheted the binding. that's why it took me so long. there are more like this one here. :)

kind of bright, but oh so cozy

on another quilting note i thought i had plenty of time to make a baby quilt for sabrina's soon to be born sweetie, but her baby came 5 weeks early! so i had to hurry and get going on it. i'm still not quite done and with school starting it might take me a little longer, but hopefully not too long. here is a peak at the fabric we chose together. :) so far it is really cute!

picking up where we left off

do you have friends that, no matter how long it has been, you just easily pick up where you left off? i got the chance to spend the weekend with two friends that are like sisters to me! it was such a good excuse to make a quick trip up to the salt lake area.

me and rach. friends since we were little. (my dad dated her mom in high school - funny huh!) loved chatting the night away with her. thanks for letting me crash your saturday night and stay at your place. :)

then i had a lovely breakfast at mimi's with maryann. if you ask how me met she may loudly exclaim that it was one wild night in vegas, but it's not as bad as it sounds. :) she was my roommate for awhile after that and we had so much fun together! so we did breakfast and then just chilled at liberty park. i love liberty park. it was so fun to see maryann. she is definitely one of those people that i can be completely myself with. i love talking to her! and little did we know that we have twinner hairdos. haha! funny.

in my quick trip i also got to see my grandparents, Bri and Cath and fam and got to spend sunday afternoon with my sister and her family. we made yummy zucchini bread and chatted. such a great weekend.

it's britney!

i was lucky enough to go to britney spears with sabrina a couple months ago and finally took these pics from her blog cause i didn't have my camera. it was awesome. pussy cat dolls opened up for her. i love the pussy cat dolls. they are just as sexy in real life . . . from like a million miles away. haha. and britney was good. it was quite the show and quite the circus! but i guess i expected her to at least actually sing her slow songs. oh well. she's britney, so she gets to do whatever she wants. thanks sabrina!

sand mountain

went hiking on sunday to sand mountain with cody and another chick he works with at fitness ridge. it is just past leeds and so beautiful! it was the perfect day for hiking. i was hiking my butt off to keep up with these two professional hiking guides, but it was so fun! the end of the hike is this huge sand mountain that you get to jump down. check out these sweet action shots i got of cody!

hiking tradition

maryann came into town from indiana and we had to go on a traditional sunday hike with cody. it was so beautiful that day that i had to post a lot of pics!

this is me and cody's ice skating rink. when we were on this hike a couple years ago it was frozen over and we made an ice skating video with his cell phone, choreographed and all! it makes me smile.

finally making our way out. this was a long, gorgeous hike and my legs were sore for the next two days . . . :)

annual hadley christmas extravaganza

this is the christmas party of all christmas parties, which is probably why they call it an extravaganza. i really don't think i have ever been to one that was more organized and fun than this one! quinn and nicole really outdid themselves this year.

nate, audry, cody, annika and i braved the snowstorm on saturday night and drove up to pine valley. it really was kinda scary driving up there. here we are warming up and eating the yummy food in the cozy cabin.

they had so many fun games lined up:

• buzzer game: teams had to answer questions about others at the party
• guess that christmas movie: we had to write down the names of the ones they had pictured on a poster board.
• rootbeer guessing game: guess which kind of rootbeear is which and choose the best rootbear by taste.
• white elephant gift exchange (hilarious)
• the animal game (always so funny and this particular one had me crying laughing)
• silent football

i think i ended up with the best, most classic type of white elephant . . . so funny!

quinn (with the help of his mother) made a purse from men's briefs! it was fully lined and interfaced and had a zipper! i was laughing so hard. i couldn't believe the work he and his mom put into this. classic! thanks quinn!

that's why god made mexico

don't mind me if this is where i will be for thanksgiving!

it was kind of weird deciding not to be with family and eat the traditional food, but i think feeling the sands of mexico between my toes will take my mind off of that. ;) i am very excited to get away and just relax! it's been awhile!

nightmares . . .?

don't ask me why {maybe it's the required wardrobe, hair and makeup} but i have been having nightmares about working here - the dumb kind where you can't do anything and everyone is asking you for everything and it's not even open yet, even though . . . i was hired more than 2 months ago . . . they've had a few setbacks. don't get me wrong! the food and atmosphere is going to be fabulous, i am just not sure if it's the kind of fabulous that i want to work at . . . maybe i would rather just go eat there without having to worry about how to put fake eyelashes on . . .

so i think that they just need to hurry up and open up already so i can have this anticipation end and find out what it really is going to be like. i got a little taste with the friends and family training night, and there are a few kinks to work out . . .

but i guess you can at least enjoy leah's and my practice attempts at rockabilly 40's or whatever with the fake eyelashes and red lipstick, yeah.

not sure if i like taking an hour to get ready for work.
